Hillcrest Hall is home to the Hillcrest Honors Living-Learning Community, a unique community of about 100 students, ranging from first-years to grad students, from all academic disciplines! It's a community where you can share your interests with other passionate and ambitious honors students working in diverse areas across the university.

This small, tight-knit community is reserved for students that belong to the Honors College at Virginia Tech.

Home to the Hillcrest Living-Learning Community

Hillcrest Hall is home to the Hillcrest Living-Learning Community, a multidisciplinary and multigenerational community for honors students.

Hillcrest Hall features a large common space with a piano and study spaces, as well as lounges and other spaces for gathering and collaborating with fellow students.

Area Office

Hillcrest Hall uses the Ambler Johnston Area Office.

Visit your area office to take advantage of a wide range of services, including assistance with room lockouts and residential space reservations.

Laundry

Hillcrest Hall residents utilize the laundry machines located in the basement.


Use Laundry Web to reserve a washer or dryer, tell you how many machines are in use, or even send you a text when your laundry is done! All machines accept coins or Hokie Passport debit.

Location

Hillcrest Hall is located on the far west side of campus, with close proximity to the Duck Pond, the Life Sciences division, and Dietrick dining hall.

How do I apply to live in Hillcrest Hall?

First-year students:
All incoming first-year students are required to live in on-campus housing for their first year; however, students are not guaranteed their choice of housing, and must complete their housing/dining contract to be assigned a space. Assignments for incoming first-year students and transfers are made in contract receipt order, so the earlier your contract arrives, the earlier you are assigned in the process.

Returning students:
Unlike incoming freshmen, on-campus housing is not guaranteed to returning or transfer students. Returning undergraduate students must request housing for the next academic year using the housing application process (HAP), more commonly known as the "housing lottery."
